Research-Led Innovation
VNR Group’s first initiative in horticulture dates back in 1990, when Krishi Pandit Dr. Narayanbhai Chawda visited AVRDC, Taiwan and later visited South Korea and Thailand. During his visits, Dr. Chawda evaluated and understood the technology behind grafting technique and resistance root stock. He also studied many high quality, long duration fruit crops of the region.
Dr. Chawda–at his research plot in small village of Gomchi (near Raipur)–independently started breeding program for fruit variety development. With his single handed dedication and patient research of 20 years, he achieved success with the release of new Guava fruit variety–VNR Bihi. During his long course of research, parent company VNR Seeds extended infrastructure, research and facility support to his breeding program.
VNR have forayed into the business of horticulture with an aim to be a dominant player in this field, which currently lacks service oriented model. VNR Nursery aims to transfer the best crop management practices through professional team and to ensure the profitability of Farmers.
Research Infrastructure
VNR Nursery is awarded with 3 Star Top Most Rating by National Horticulture Board (NHB), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare, Government of India. This prestigious accreditation and top most 3 star rating is a valuable certificate of our commitments to serve growers community.
VNR Nursery has 3 technologically advance climate controlled Green houses ad-measuring 2000 sq. meters. It has 5 acres of land dedicated for research spread in various geographies to ensure that plant is tested in all possible parameters of environment and soil conditions.
Our Group’s Research facility is certified by DSIR. The associated biotech lab and Path lab assists in achieving advance and timely research objectives.
Production
The production field of VNR Nursery is dedicated with 80 acres of fully equipped land which is spread across 14 locations in chhattisgarh. Out of above, horticulture division is entrusted with 60 acres of mother plants block for bud woods and 15 acres of land for rootstocks and grafted plants.
We have developed a standardized production protocol for large scale production of planting material which ensures quality standards at every stage of production–delivering results without deviations.
All the locations are equipped with latest modern facilities of agriculture like drip irrigation, tube wells, agriculture implements, generator backup for electricity and internet connectivity. These locations are well connected with each other by transportable road facility.
People
VNR Nursery is lead by best in class professionals having academic qualifications from renowned universities and have vast experience in similar industry verticals. The team is having a balance of both skilled and semi-skilled workforce and are entrusted with production of high quality planting material. We have trained budders team to achieve highest level of efficiency with precision of delivery.
At present, horticulture scenario in country is very dynamic and is changing day-by-day. Innovative technologies are getting introduced for comprehensive development in every sphere and rapid changes are taking place in horticulture. We at VNR Nursery are regularly facilitating manpower training in association with renowned international and national institutes and keeping our skill repository updated with latest technologies. We as service oriented and progressive organization, ensure that our skilled, trained and knowledge updated manpower, to impart and share this knowledge with growers and help them reap maximum benefits in cultivation of quality and nutritious fruits.
We have a dedicated team of field staff which gives on-site assistance to farmers during planting and development phase. This team is also available on “Call-Charge” basis for training farmers on package of practice and plant protection management.
